IFAD TO GIVE $12 MILLION CREDIT TO ARMENIA

YEREVAN, JULY 25, ARMENPRESS: Armenian agricultural ministry and
the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) signed
yesterday an agreement, whereby IFAD will give Armenia a $12 million
fresh loan for giving a boost to farming.

The loan is part of a broader Marketing Opportunities for Farmers
program, with a budget of $30 million.

Apart form the $12 million loan Armenia will also receive a $500,000
grant from IFAD. The program will encompass the whole of Armenia with
the focus on loaning farmers, repair of infrastructure and credits
to small and medium-sized businesses.
