YEREVAN, JULY 31, NOYAN TAPAN. The results of the first all-Armenian
high-tech congress "ArmTech 2007" held in San Francisco on July
4-7 will be presented to Armenia’s authorities by the Armenian and
Diasporan organizers of the congress in September, NT correspondent
was informed by Aram Vardanian, Armenian co-chairman of the organizing
committee of "ArmTech 2007", director of Viasphere Technopark.

In his words, more than 60 participants of the event – members of the
Armenian delegation, who presented the investment programs of their
enterprises, also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with
the work of big local companies. A. Vardanian compared this fact with
the first participation of Japanese car producing firms in US car
shows in the early 1960s, after which Japanese firms started using
the US experience, gradulally entering the international car market.

A. Vardanian said that the 36 investment programs of over 350 congress
participants from 9 countries were related, in particular, to creation
of IT software, organization of development of alternative energy
sources, and modelling of semiconductor devices. Business plans
and proposals of research and applied character were presented as
well. According to A. Vardanian, they anticipate foreign investors’
response to Armenian enterprises’ investment programs on production
of solar power plants and biotechnologies in the near future.

He attached importance to the fact that the Armenia-Diaspora
cooperation is gradually shifting from the humanitarian sphere to
the business sector, particularly, to high-tech business.
