Tbilisi. August 29 (Prime-News) – Russia has banned the import of
pork from Armenia regarding the spread of African Swine Fever on the
territory of Georgia.

Armenian news agencies inform about that.

According to their information, temporal restrictions were imposed
on an import and transit of agricultural products from the territory
of Armenia.

The cases of African Swine Fever have been observed on the neighboring
regions of Armenia: in Taushi and Lori. About 21 000 of pigs died
from African Swine Fever.

The Russian Federation has already banned the export of agricultural
products from the territory of de facto Abkhazia. Russia has
reportedly cited the spread of a pig disease, African Swine Fever
(ASF), in Abkhazia as the reason for the decision.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
