ISRAEL’S PRESIDENT DRAWS DIRECT HISTORICAL LINK BETWEEN WORLD’S FAILURE TO PREVENT ARMENIAN GENOCIDE AND HOLOCAUST

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin Israel’s President drew a direct
historical link between the world’s failure to prevent the Armenian
genocide and the Holocaust. The president made such statement in a
closed session with journalists held last week in Jerusalem in honor
of Israel Independence Day.

“The Nazis,” he said, “used the Armenian genocide as something that
gave them permission to bring the Holocaust into reality.”

Rivlin also welcomed Pope Francis’s April 12 statement, in which he
referred to the slaughter of the Armenians as the “first genocide
of the Twentieth Century.” “This is important to Christians, Jews,
Muslims-to human beings,” Rivlin said.

It is not the first time Rivlin makes such statements. Nevertheless,
in Dec 2014, he refused to sign the annual message calling on Israel
to official recognize the Armenian Genocide.

According to the Armenian Assembly of America, around the world, the
Jewish community is rallying in support of official acknowledgment of
the Armenian Genocide. Jewish leaders and organizations have joined
the call for the U.S. government to officially characterize the
systematic murder of 1.5 million Armenians a century ago as genocide.

In the past 24 hours, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, the American
Jewish Committee, and the editorial board of Jewish Week condemned
the atrocities of 1915.

Nevertheless, Tel-Aviv’s stand on the Armenian Genocide is uncertain.

In a speech before the United Nations commemorating the Holocaust the
following month, however, Rivlin implicitly recognized the Armenian
genocide and drew a direct connection between the world’s failure to
act in 1915, again during the Holocaust, and then again in subsequent
genocides around the world. Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor
Lieberman, publicly denies the fact of Genocide and actively support
the Turkish-Azerbaijani lobby.

Interview de Richard Findykian organisateur du 5ème Festival national
du livre franco-armenien, president d’Ararat TV et Adjoint au maire
du 9e et 10e arrondissement de Marseille.

A quelle initiative ce festival a-t-il ete cree ?

Cette manifestation est nee avec l’Annee de l’ Armenie en 2006 dans le
bureau de Christian Makarian, directeur adjoint du magazine L’ Express
et premier president du festival. Christian Makarian avait insiste
sur le fait qu’il faudrait s’attacher a perenniser cet evènement.

Aujourd’hui, la production litteraire franco-armenienne permettrait
presque une manifestation annuelle alors que nous ne l’organisons,
pour l’instant, que tous les deux ans.

Pour quelles raisons est-il important, selon vous, d’organiser un
festival du livre franco-armenien ?

Pour les francais d’origine armenienne, une manifestation comme
celle-ci represente un evènement majeur car les livres renferment a la
fois notre histoire et notre memoire collective. Comme l’avait souligne
a l’epoque Garo Hovsepian, president de la maison armenienne de la
jeunesse et de la culture de la rue saint bazile : > En effet, il s’agit bien de memoire collective a
travers l’ecrit. Une edition precedente etait dediee a Garbis Artin,
lui qui etait l’un des gardiens de notre memoire a Marseille avec son
association ARAM. D’ailleurs, le premier livre a avoir ete prime par
le Prix Aznavour en 2006 est celui de Raymond Kevorkian >. En 206, pendant les deliberations du jury, c’est
le regrette Jacques Chancel qui avait pris la parole le premier afin
de defendre l’ouvrage de Raymond Kevorkian en disant d’emblee qu’il
voterait pour lui pensant qu’effectivement une première recompense
devait revenir a un ouvrage historique sur le genocide. Je pense que
le jury avait souhaite donner une dimension symbolique a l’ouvrage
d’un historien qui raconte le genocide au fil de ses 500 pages. Quand
Michel Drucker le presenta aux millions de telespectateurs de son
emission Vivement Dimanche, on parla de l’ouvrage dans toute la
communaute franco-armenienne.

Qu’en est-il aujourd’hui de la notoriete des auteurs d’origine
armenienne sur la scène litteraire francaise ?

Le nombre d’ouvrages qui decrivent et racontent le genocide est
impressionnant a travers plusieurs dizaines de maisons d’editions
qui publient des livres en France mais egalement dans tous les
pays du monde. En terme de vente et de succès litteraire, c’est
incontestablement Charles Aznavour qui a deja signe de nombreux
ouvrages qui beneficie de la plus grande notoriete quand l’un de
ses ouvrages parait. Franz -Olivier Giesbert et Valerie Toranian,
presidents du second festival dont l’invitee d’honneur etait Madame
Edmonde Charles-Roux, presidente a l’epoque de l’Academie Goncourt,
avaient eu raison de recompenser Moosheg Abrahamian qui avait si bien
traduit > de Raffi, notre >. Cette
annee, c’est Jean-jacques Avedissian, directeur des editions Thaddee
a Paris, qui se bat lui aussi afin de pouvoir publier les auteurs
franco-armeniens qui presentent le plus grand nombre d’ouvrages lies
a l’Armenie. Ce festival sert surtout a cela, porter un regard et
mettre en lumière les artisans de la culture franco-armenienne. Un
mot a propos du Prix Alain Terzian auquel le President de l’Academie
des Cesar du Cinema francais est très attache, prix qui recompense le
meilleur ouvrage consacre au cinema. Il m’a demande cette annee a ce
que le Prix qui porte son nom soit remis a Marseille par deux femmes.

Par Valerie Boyer, très active au sujet de la cause armenienne et de
celle des chretiens d’orient et par la nouvelle presidente du Conseil
departemental d’origine armenienne par sa maman, Martine Vassal. Le
Prix Charles Aznavour 2015 sera remis par Agnès Vahramian, redactrice
en chef du 20h de France 2 , presidente du jury, et par Guy Teissier,
le president d’honneur du festival 2015.

Comment ont ete selectionnes les ouvrages qui sont cette annee en
competition ?

Le comite de selection de l’association culturelle Terre d’Armenie
recoit tous les ouvrages envoyes par les maisons d’editions et par
le libraire officiel du festival, en l’occurrence Cultura, dirige
par Herve Demirdjian. Les ouvrages retenus pour la competition,
sont ensuite envoyes au president et a chacun des quinze membres du
jury au debut de l’hiver puis, le jury se reunit enfin ce samedi au
Sofitel Vieux Port autour d’un dejeuner afin de deliberer sous le
contrôle de Maître Baccino, huissier de justice a Marseille.

Pour ce centenaire du genocide, vous avez produit un film sur le plus
celèbre des armeniens… Que represente Charles Aznavour pour vous
et pour les armeniens de la communaute ?

Mathieu Madenian dit que c’est Jesus Christ…J’ai dit un jour a Levon
Sayan, son ancien manager, Aznavour pour moi ,c’est l’Ararat !…Celui
que tout le monde admire, et qui est devenu aujourd’hui une legende,
un symbole.J’ai grandi avec Hier encore, La Mama, Que c’est triste
Venise et For me formidable qui passaient en boucle ! C’est sans
doute l’homme dont le nom incarne et symbolise a la fois le travail,
la perseverance et au final, la reussite. C’est pour cela qu’il seduit
encore. La duree de sa carrière unique et exceptionnelle est toute
aussi importante car elle a fait de lui le chanteur francais le plus
connu au monde, designe par le magazine Times comme > et qui parle de l’auteur qui doit noircir la page blanche et
qui cherche desesperement des mots dans tous les dictionnaires…Dans
son livre >, un recueil de pensees et de
souvenirs, un livre où l’alchimiste et le magicien des mots qu’est
Aznavour dit, en substance, que l’on passe sa vie a devoir franchir
certaines portes avec plus ou moins de difficultes : certaines nous
font entrevoir des joies insensees, dit-il, d’autres se ferment a
nous… De l’ombre a la lumière,il n’y avait qu’un pas. Ce pas-la a
ete l’affaire de toute mon existence. Il ecrit aussi : Autrefois,
j’etais exclusivement au service du public ; desormais je suis au
service de la langue ! Un livre qui a deja recu un prix qui convient
tout a fait a Monsieur Aznavour : Le a l’humoriste Mathieu Madenian, de Patrick Fiori a Valerie
Toranian, d’Helène Segara a Armen Petrossian, le roi du caviar,
les exemples foisonnent pour definir cette culture composee d’un
savoureux melange de nos racines partagees entre Orient et Occident,
une remarquable alchimie qui fonctionne très bien. La France aime,
pour reprendre un titre de livre deja prime au festival, la culture
et les traditions de cet >,
premier royaume chretien de l’Histoire. Nous aimons passionnement
notre pays, la France, la Republique et ses valeurs de tolerance
et d’humanisme ! La culture franco-armenienne marche bien puisque
dans le cadre de Marseille, Capitale europeenne de la Culture 2013 ,
avec la complicite de mon ami Didier Parakian, nous avions organise
la Semaine de l’Excellence Franco-Armenienne. Nous avions reunis
dans le Pavillon M, le pavillon de l’excellence près du Vieux Port,
ce que le > entre la France et l’Armenie avait genere
de meilleur dans les domaines les plus varies, gastronomie, cinema,
musique, savoir-faire artisanal, litterature, journalisme, mode,
tourisme…Cela fait beaucoup de monde dans ce pays !

Qu’attendez-vous de cette cinquième edition du festival ?

Les chretiens seront a l’honneur cette annee. A travers le monde, 150
a 200 millions de chretiens ne vivent plus leur foi librement.75% des
violences perpetrees a l’encontre des minorites religieuses visent des
chretiens. Dans certaines regions du monde, comme en Irak et en Syrie,
les chretiens sont menaces de disparition totale. Comme l’a souligne le
Pape Francois après avoir reconnu le genocide il y a quelques jours,

LES LECONS D’UN CENTENAIRE. PROPOS DU GENOCIDE ARMENIEN (DEBOUT LA FRANCE)

Le 24 avril, le centenaire du genocide armenien sera commemore,
a Erevan, en presence de plusieurs chefs d’Etat etrangers dont
Francois Hollande. Il le sera aussi dans les pays de diaspora,
et au premier chef en France, où 600.000 de nos compatriotes sont
d’origine armenienne.

L’ampleur du massacre perpetre dans l’Empire ottoman a partir du
24 avril 1915 est incontestable et, dans l’etat des connaissances
historiques, la qualification de genocide, c’est-a-dire de massacre
premedite et systematique d’un peuple ou d’un groupe ethnique a fin
d’extermination, ne peut, elle-meme, etre deniee.

Il est impossible de relativiser l’horreur par l’horreur comme
certains, et en particulier les autorites turques, l’ont fait pendant
trop longtemps. Les massacres qui ont eu lieu anterieurement dans
l’Empire, en particulier sous Abdulhamid II, surnomme le >, puis après sa deposition par les Jeunes Turcs du Comite Union
et Progrès, en 1909, pendant que d’autres se deroulaient ailleurs
comme les pogroms des Juifs en Russie, l’extermination parallèle a
celle des Armeniens, en pleine Première Guerre, des Grecs pontiques
et des Yazidis (deja !), aux deux extremites de l’Empire, ou les
quelques Turcs tues par des ressortissants des peuples minoritaires,
ne changent strictement rien au problème.

Les historiens ont aussi fait justice depuis longtemps de l’allegation
par les bourreaux et par leurs avocats du contexte de la Grande Guerre
et du fait que les Armeniens auraient constitue une cinquième colonne
preparant un soulèvement general en appui des Russes, ennemis des

Quant au genocide lui-meme, il est evidemment difficile a prouver
definitivement, car les documents les plus compromettants, des
ordres officiels aux archives de l’Organisation speciale chargee de
l’execution, ont ete systematiquement detruits par les responsables.

Il reste neanmoins des epaves, les travaux de la cour martiale de 1919,
les multiples temoignages des survivants, mais aussi de fonctionnaires
turcs et de diplomates etrangers et le fameux >
du ministre de l’Interieur de l’epoque Talaat Pacha, instigateur et
maître d’oeuvre, texte revele en 2005. Il est plus que probable que
plus d’un million d’Armeniens vivant alors dans l’Empire ont ete tues
sur l’ordre d’Istanbul, les autres n’etant epargnes que parce qu’ils
vivaient dans la capitale ou a Smyrne, où le gouvernement ne pouvait
agir aussi facilement sous les yeux des etrangers et de l’opinion,
parce qu’ils reussirent a fuir ou parce qu’ils furent sauves par
l’avancee de l’armee russe. Pour ceux qui voudraient de plus amples
informations, je les invite a lire l’excellent ouvrage Comprendre le
genocide des armeniens, 1915 a nos jours, codirige par Hamit Bozarslan,
Vincent Duclert et Raymond Kevorkian (Tallandier, 2015).

Cela signifie-t-il pour autant qu’il faut legiferer en la matière ?

Non ! Depuis un quart de siècle, les responsables politiques francais
font fausse route avec des lois memorielles comme la loi Gayssot de
juillet 1990 ou la loi Taubira de mai 2001. Dans le cadre de notre
propos, une loi a reconnu le genocide armenien, en janvier 2001. Mais
un historien serieux et un responsable politique doivent le dire, ce
n’est pas au legislateur d’ecrire l’Histoire comme cela se fait dans
les regimes totalitaires ; ce n’est pas a lui de figer la recherche ;
ce n’est pas a lui de donner demagogiquement dans le compassionnel,
d’encourager la concurrence victimaire, de donner un alibi aux
complotistes ; ce n’est meme pas a lui d’affirmer un fait historique,
fût-il indiscutable !

En novembre 2008, après de nouvelles controverses, les deputes avaient
pris la decision de ne plus se prononcer que par des resolutions
dans le domaine de la memoire. Trois ans plus tard, cette decision
plus sage etait oubliee. La loi visant a reprimer la contestation
de l’existence des genocides reconnus par les lois deja evoquees fut
votee. Elle a justement ete sanctionnee par le Conseil constitutionnel
comme contraire a la Constitution, le 28 fevrier 2012. Depuis, le
president Francois Hollande, qui a fait du pathos l’un de ses chevaux
de bataille, a envisage de refaire, une fois de plus, du Parlement un
tribunal de l’Histoire. De grâce, laissons les historiens travailler
et donnons ensuite de l’echo a leurs recherches ! N’instrumentalisons
pas la souffrance ou ne la desservons pas en croyant bien faire !

Si le deni du gouvernement turc est insupportable, il ne pourra etre
eternel. Sa reaction a la declaration historique du pape Francois et
sa volonte d’attenuer les commemorations du 24 par l’organisation,
en grande pompe, du centenaire du debarquement des Dardanelles (avec,
au passage, un tour de passe-passe historique puisque celui-ci eut
lieu le lendemain) ne passent pas, y compris en Turquie, et ont ete
tournees en derision. Les mentalites evoluent. La normalisation des
relations turco-armeniennes est au bout. Encore est-il souhaitable
qu’elle ne tarde pas trop et que le gouvernement turc comprenne
rapidement où se trouve son interet !

C’est pourquoi, en plus de ce que nous devons a nos compatriotes
d’origine armenienne, il est capital de participer aux commemorations
du 24 avril a travers toute la France et de leur donner le plus grand
echo possible. Cela nous incitera peut-etre aussi a ne pas fermer
les yeux sur un autre massacre, celui qui se deroule actuellement aux
confins des Empires ottoman et perse de jadis et qui frappe d’autres
chretiens !

C’est le seul etablissement de ce type sur les sept qui existent en
France a aller jusqu’au lycee. En maternelle, l’enseignement est
totalement bilingue. Ensuite, l’armenien represente environ 20%
des heures de cours des elèves.

L’enseignement du genocide entre dans le programme des cours d’histoire
a partir du collège, souligne Mme Biberian. >, rappelle-t-elle.

CHISINAU CINEMA HOUSE CANCELS SCREENING OF A MOVIE ABOUT ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

YEREVAN, April 23. / ARKA /. The sudden decision of Odeon cinema house
in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, to cancel the screening of a
lately released movie -The Cut- shot by Fatih Akin, the German-Turkish
film-maker, about the Armenian genocide in 1915, has caused the
indignation of the Armenian community of Moldova, Interfax reports.

An activist of the community, Stanislav Vartanian, wrote in a social
network that the decision was announced to some 300 people who came
to see the film. They were told that the film would not be screened
‘in order to avoid unwanted incidents.’ This is outrageous, “Stanislav
Vartanian wrote.

The head of the Armenian community, Ernest Vartanian, told the
300 people that the screening was cancelled because of political
considerations.

“We did not get any official explanation. According to some sources,
the decision was prompted by two countries, Armenia knows firsthand
(Azerbaijan and Turkey). This incident shows that the struggle for
recognition of the Armenian Genocide continues. Among the 300 people
there were leaders of cultural societies of Moldova and Chisinau
-based diplomats,” said Vardanyan.-0-

AUSTRIA STICKS TO DECISION ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE DESPITE TURKISH CRITICISM

Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz on Thursday rejected harsh
criticism from Turkey over a declaration by his country’s parliament
that labelled the 1915 deportation and massacres of Armenians in the
Ottoman Empire as “genocide,” dpa reports.

The Turkish government on Wednesday night recalled its ambassador
from Austria following the parliamentary decision a day earlier.

“It should be known that Turkey and the Turkish nation will not forget
this slander uttered against their history,” Turkey’s Ministry of
Foreign Affairs said, adding that the decision “will leave permanent
stains on the Turkish-Austrian friendship.”

Ankara also took offence that the declaration did not mention the
Muslims who lost their lives during the same period and slammed the
“outrageous behaviour” of legislators in Vienna saying they should
not give history lessons.

“The declaration of the Austrian Parliament is to be respected,”
said Kurz. “Now it is appropriate to look towards the future and work
towards reconciliation between Turks and Armenians.”

The Austrian Parliament stopped short of adopting a formal resolution,
but six parliamentary parties joined in the declaration.

“Because of the historical responsibility – the Austrian-Hungarian
monarchy was allied to the Ottoman Empire – it is our duty to recognize
and condemn the horrible events as genocide,” it said.

“Turkey must bring light into the dark of history in order
to reappraise this issue in a transparent manner,” the Austrian
statement said.

Turkey has also recalled its ambassador to the Vatican after Pope
Francis last week said the Armenians were victims of “the first
genocide of the 20th century.”

Dear and pious faithful brothers and sisters,

Under the gaze of biblical Ararat, in this cherished holy shrine of
the Christ-built Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, today with unified
prayer we offer glory up to our Omnipotent God for all of His gifts.

We praise the Heavenly One, Who gave strength to our nation to overcome
centuries of historical trials, to rise up from the horrors of the
Armenian Genocide, and to create the victories and accomplishments
of their new life. We glorify the Lord, that the witnesses martyred
in the Genocide for faith and homeland, are crowned with sainthood,
and through their intercession, His endless mercies flow into our lives

During the dire years of the Genocide of the Armenians, millions
of our people were uprooted and massacred in a premeditated manner,
passed through fire and sword, tasted the bitter fruits of torture and
sorrow. Nevertheless, in the midst of horrid torments and facing death,
remained strengthened by the love of Christ, bringing the witness
of unshakeable faith, in accord with the apostolic words, “If you
are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because… the
Spirit of God is resting on you.” (1 Peter 4:14.)

Witnessing to Christ through martyrdom is intertwined with the life of
our people. Manifold testimonies of holiness, virtue, and the joys of
spiritual selflessness are recorded as well in the tragic annals of the
Armenian Genocide. The Armenian who was persecuted for his Christian
faith traveled the path of martyrdom with prayer as his companion;
while the one who persecuted him with unceasing atrocity assumed that
he was finally cutting off the roots of the love for Christ from the
life of the Armenian. The blood of the Armenian martyred for Christ,
has placed the seal of unshakeable faith and patriotism on the sands of
the desert, while the committer of genocide assumed that the Armenian
was being lost forever in the gales of history. It is with that same
spirit of devotion to Christ and love of patrimony that our people
have re-created their spiritual and national life in all corners of
the world, found rebirth in Eastern Armenia, under the canopy of their
state which has risen from the ashes. Our people have created their
path to ascent through sacrifice, struggle, efforts to voice their
righteous case before the conscience and rights of humanity, and always
remembering in prayer the countless witnesses of the Armenian Genocide.

The history of martyrdom is not merely a litany of facts or events;
rather it is the truth of faith that appears before us, against which
tortures and crimes, as well as political deceits and machinations
are powerless. Martyrdom ties human life and history to a more
powerful heavenly reality, which transcends time and propagates toward
eternity, as per the Lord’s promise, “Do not fear what you are about
to suffer. …Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown
of life.” (Revelation 2:10.) Our martyrs who witnessed Christ direct
the gaze of our souls upward from earthly realities to heavenly life,
granting spiritual happiness to we who seek their intercession, and
encouraging us to rely on the Lord, to not cower before trials, and to
live the God-granted life through works of faith, hope and love. The
martyrs of the Genocide today, in the luminous chambers of the kingdom
of heaven, bearing the crowns of martyrdom, are the patron saints of
justice, philanthropy and peace; whose intercession from heaven opens
the source of God’s mercy and graces wherever justice is weakened, the
tranquility and security of peace is disturbed, where human rights and
the rights of people are trampled, threats arise against the welfare of
societies, and persecutions against faith and identity are fanaticized.

Dear and pious faithful,

All of us today are witnesses to the spiritual transfiguration of our
history, in which we participate both collectively and as individuals.

The canonization of the martyrs of the Genocide brings life-giving
new breath, grace and blessing to our national and ecclesiastical life.

We believe that we are weaving the crown of a new spiritual rebirth
for our people, by canonizing the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.

The memory of our holy martyrs will heretofore not be a requiem prayer
of victimhood and dormition, rather a victorious song of praise
by incorporeal soldiers, triumphant and sanctified by the blood of
martyrdom. Today the devout spirit of love ‘of faith and homeland’
of our holy martyrs extends from Der Zor to Holy Etchmiadzin and
Tsitsernakaberd, from newly-independent Armenia to the reborn fields
of Armenian life dispersed throughout the world, by strengthening us
to live with unshakeable faith, the bright vision of the renaissance

interwoven with the prayers of this sacred service we offer, to
which the President of the Republic of Armenia and the First Lady;
our spiritual brother, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia;
our beloved brothers in Christ – heads and representatives of our
sister Churches; honored representatives of Armenian Catholic and
Evangelical Churches; state officials of the Armenians and friendly
nations; and representatives of diplomatic missions and international
organizations, all bring their participation.

With the inaugural supplication for the intercession of our holy
martyrs of the Genocide, we offer today our prayer up to God in
heaven, asking,

To peacefully keep our people and all of mankind under His blessings,

To quench the thirst for justice in our people’s soul,

For the rays of justice and truth to shine over the world through
divine mercy, and disperse the darkness of crimes and calamities that
disrupt the life of humanity, and for mankind to create its prosperous
and joyful life in brotherhood and harmony

SQUARE IN DAMASCUS CALLED HOLY MARTYRS OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, the Damascus
municipality has adopted a decision to call one of the squares of
Damascus Holy Martyrs of Armenian Genocide. Nazareth Elmachian informed
Armenpress that the square is located in Old Damascus at the Christian
quarter of Bab Tuma, near St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church.

A signboard of square is published on the internet, next to which
another signboard is posted noting that the Armenian Genocide is the
first genocide of the modern history, perpetrated by the Turks during
and after World War I and the number of victims exceeds r 1.5 million.

It is considered that a silent candlelight vigil will be held from
Bab Tuma to Bab Sharki quarter with the participation of Damascus
Armenians.

EPP DELEGATION TO ATTEND ARMENIAN GENOCIDE CENTENARY EVENTS IN YEREVAN

A delegation of the European People’s Party (EPP), led by President
Joseph Daul, will visit Yerevan to participate in the events dedicated
to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Armenian Minister
of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan wrote on Facebook.

The EPP delegation will be received by Armenian President Serzh
Sargsyan. Meetings are also scheduled with Prime Minister Hovik
Abrahamyan and the EPP member parties. The delegation will also visit
the French University in Armenia.

ANGLICAN CHURCH SUPPORTS ARMENIAN GENOCIDE RECOGNITION

YEREVAN. – The Anglican Church of Great Britain supports the Armenian
Genocide recognition process. The Bishop of London, Richard Chartres,
told the aforementioned to reporters Thursday, and following the
inter-church meeting that was held within the framework of the Armenian
Genocide Centennial commemorations being held in Armenia’s capital
city of Yerevan.

As per Bishop Chartres, the Anglican Church is aware, and it supports
this process.

As for the British politicians, however, the Bishop of London
noted that except for Baroness Caroline Cox, who is a member of the
British House of Lords, this matter is not a prominent issue for the
UK parliament.
