200 HAMSHEN-ARMENIAN FAMILIES ARE TO MOVE FROM KYRGYZSTAN TO NAGORNO-KARABAKH REPUBLIC

200 Hamshen-Armenian families living in Kyrgyzstan are opting to
resettle in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, as reported Krasnodar
(Russia) newspaper “Erkramas”.

Reportedly, the leader of the Hamshen-Armenian community Ruslan
Karabadjakov informed about it. According to him, he had travelled to
Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, in particular to look into logistics for
the relocation of 200 families, willing to settle in Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic.

Hamshen Armenians are sub-ethnic group of Armenians, who historically
lived in the Black Sea coast of Turkey, mainly in the area from
Trebizond to Batumi. In 1944 Hamshenis, like the Greeks, Kurds,
Turk-Meskhetians, Crimean Tatars and representatives of some of the
North Caucasus nations, were deported to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan
with the “unreliable element” stigma.

“For 250 years fate has forced us to move from place to place-Adzharia,
Central Asia. One cannot escape the fate. Finally, we’ve decided to
seek refuge on our own land.” said Ruslan Karabadjakov. It is expected
that the Hamshen Armenians will establish residency in the Mardakert
region of Artsakh. The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic authorities will
provide land for them.

Azerbaijani criminal groups taking advantage of the equality between
sides of Karabakh conflict continue violating ceasefire regime and
the authorities do not stop lavishing big words concerning their
invincibility.

In order to not lead the nation into despair, they also keep the news
of real “image” of the contact line in secret. They receive adequate
respond which causes them deaths and damages.

“Yerkir” has already informed that the commanders of Azerbaijani
army secretly buries the dead and make them appear in public eye as
deserter or missing.

We have also announced the names of the 3 dead soldiers.

According to our new information, Ulfi Iftigaroghli Huseynov, a
soldier from the 1st army corps, 161 motorized infantry brigade was
killed on January 6.

On January 25 a soldier from the same corps, lieutenant Zamin
Alahverdioghli Mamedov was also killed.

News concerning the deaths of these soldiers was not officially
announced.

MOHAMMAD REZA RAUF SHEYBANI HOSTED BY SERZH SARGSYAN

President Serzh Sargsyan received today Special Envoy of the President
of Iran, Deputy Foreign Minister, Mohammad Reza Rauf Sheybani,
President’s press office reported.

Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the Special Envoy in Yerevan and noted that
frequent meetings testify to the high level of relations between the
two states.

During the meeting, the two sides also touched upon cooperation
in fields of mutual interest and the implementation process of the
agreements reached between the Armenian and Iranian Presidents.

(Noyan Tapan – 13.05.2011) On May 13, the Minister of Foreign Affairs
received the envoy of Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Deputy
Foreign Minister Mohammadreza Rauf Sheyban.

Having greeted the guest, the Minister Nalbandyan said that he was
pleased with the dynamic development of relations with Iran Islamic
Republic. He made importance to the Armenian-Iranian cooperation,
especially in the fields of energy, transport and in a number of
other fields.

RA Minister of Foreign Affairs and the envoy of Iran president
discussed the process of implementation of agreements adopted during
the meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Iran, which was held in
March this year.

They discussed the regional and international issues that interested
both of them.

ARMENIA WILL HELP SYRIAN DIASPORA TO LEAVE, IF NEED BE

The Armenian state will help those Syrian-Armenians who would like
to leave the country and come to Armenia over the political turmoil,
Armenia’s minister of diaspora has said.

At a meeting with students at the Yerevan State University on Thursday,
Hranush Hakobyan said: “If they say that they would like to return,
and there is the need of the state’s assistance, it will do its best
to help them.”

The statement comes amid widespread unrest in many Syrian towns.

Hundreds have been killed during the clashes between the
anti-government protestors and the army and thousands have been
wounded.

Many Syrians have already left the country for Turkey and Lebanon.

“Generally, 20 per cent of Syrian-Armenians have [their own] flats
in Yerevan. It’s wise of them,” said Hakobyan, adding that she is in
touch with the Armenian community in Syria and Armenia’s Ambassador.

“At this moment there is no such threat that ours [meaning Armenians]
would like to leave [the country],” said Hakobyan.

REQUIREMENTS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF NOTARY ACTIVITY IN ARMENIA TO BE FACILITATED

On Thursday, Parliament of Armenia adopted the changes and amendments
in the law “On Notary” in the first reading according to which the
requirements for implementation of notary activity is facilitated.

Presenting the amendments, Armenian Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan
said that the changes suggest to reduce the dates of mandatory training
for starting notary officers from one year to half a year.

“The post of a notary can occupy the citizen of Armenia have a lawyer’s
experience of minimum five years”, he said.

Armenian grandmaster Elina Danielyan suffered her first loss in the 5th
round of European Individual Women Chess Championship in a game against
championship leader Viktorija Cmilyte on Lithuania. After the loss,
the Armenian chess player dropped to 13th position with 3,5 points.

Lilit Galoyan beat Melia Salome to climb to the 10th position; Anahit
Kharatyan scored a win against Ozturk Kubra of Turkey.

Maria Gevorgyan shared points with Anna Sharevich of Belarus. Lilit
Lazarian, Lia Martirosyan, Nelli Aghinyan, Anna Hayrapetyan and
Siranush Ghukasyan lost their games.

MFA SPOKESMAN COMMENTS ON RECURRENT PROVOCATION OF AZERBAIJAN

Azerbaijan undertook another provocation at the line of contact on the
eve of establishment of ceasefire, killing civilian Arayik Balasanyan.

“With such steps Azerbaijan not only goes against the logic of the
peace process, but also strives to maintain the tension at the lien
of contact, thus preventing the settlement of the issue on the basis
of the proposals of the international community,” said Tigran Balayan,
Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Armenia.

MILITARY EXPERT: OFFICIAL BAKU ACTS AGAINST ITSELF

“Judging from the current developments Azerbaijan has adopted a
new strategy for its war propaganda. It can be called a strategy of
damage, military expert Davit Jamalyan told Panorama.am referring to
the death of a civilian by Azerbaijani sniper.

Expert says snipers have the major role in that new strategy: “The
rival targets regular losses. This is not a strategy of military
significance; otherwise they wouldn’t kill a civilian. They’re intended
to frighten Armenian community, to mature an idea of yielding Artsakh.”

While, according to the expert, Baku makes a methodological failure.

“The Armenian community is well aware of the fact that both of the
Armenian states have real chances to give an adequate response. This
is the fact being ignored in Baku. The social demand to give a rapid
response has been formed in Armenian community. ”

“In fact, official Baku acts against itself,” expert concluded.

SERZH SARGSYAN CONGRATULATES EDWARD MIRZOYAN ON 90TH ANNIVERSARY
