YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS. At the beginning of today’s Cabinet meeting caretaker Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the current situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and stated that the situation is not stabilizing.

Pashinyan said that Azerbaijan continues the aggressive rhetoric and actions, leaving without response all the proposals of the international community aimed at the political and lasting solution of the situation.

“Azerbaijan is attempting to disrupt any opportunity for dialogue with all its actions, discrediting the November 9 and the January 11 trilateral statements. Azerbaijan is taking consistent actions also to discredit the topic of unblocking the regional communications. Azerbaijan continues to point out a topic of a so-called corridor, outlining concrete routes and directions. I have repeatedly stated that Armenia has not discussed, is not discussing and will not discuss any issue of corridor logic”, he said, adding that all transportation and economic communications in the region must open.

“Just as Armenia must have a communication to Russia, Central Asia and Iran via Azerbaijan, so Azerbaijan must have a communication to Nakhijevan, Georgia and Iran via Armenia. In order to implement this plan, customs points should be established in the respective sections of the border”, Nikol Pashinyan said, bringing as an example the border checkpoints operating in the CIS territory.

Analyst: Baku wants to achieve signing of treaty in order to declare end of war in Karabakh

News.am, Armenia

What is currently happening on Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan is referred to as a low-intensity conflict. It has existed since the early or mid-2000’s and stretched until the second war in Nagorno-Karabakh last year.

This is what Director of the Caucasus Institute, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan said during today’s online discussion. Moreover, the analyst stated that even though there were different borders back then, there would still be firing and escalation, as well as movements of Azerbaijani and Armenian soldiers from time to time.

Nevertheless, according to Iskandaryan, what happened was not accidental since Azerbaijan has a strategy and specific purpose, that is, Baku wants a railway to pass through the southern sector of Armenia and reach Turkey. Iskandaryan added that Baku doesn’t want Armenians and Armenian forces to control the road.

“Another goal of Azerbaijan is to achieve the signing of a treaty that the authorities of the country will present to the public as certain recognition of Azerbaijan’s borders and de facto inclusion of Nagorno-Karabakh within the composition of Azerbaijan through Armenia’s acknowledgement of this,” the analyst clarified. Basically, according to him, Baku wants to have such a treaty so that it can declare that the war in Nagorno-Karabakh is finally over.

Turkish press: Turkey’s communications director unveils YouTube hypocrisy

Burak Dağ   |02.07.2021

ANKARA

Turkey’s presidential communications director on Thursday unveiled YouTube's hypocrisy of banning his speech he made at an exhibition in the memory of Turkish diplomats martyred by Armenian terrorist organizations.

"I regret to say that the speech I made at the Martyr Diplomats Exhibition was censored by YouTube. This speech supposedly contained hate speech," Fahrettin Altun said on Twitter.

Accusing YouTube of practicing "double standards and hypocrisy," he said: "YouTube, which ignores hate speeches against Islam and Muslims and easily opens up space for the terrorist organizations’ smear campaign, considers what we said about the murderous terrorists who martyred our Turkish diplomats as a hate crime!"

"Like it or not, we will keep saying on all occasions that terrorism has no language, religion or race," he went on to say.

"We have seen once again that we need indigenous and national platforms in the field of media and communication, as we need in every field."

On April 24, Altun delivered a speech at The Martyr Diplomats Exhibition, which was held simultaneously at Istanbul's Sirkeci Station and in Los Angeles.

It was dedicated to Turkish diplomats who continued their duties despite the threats and attacks by Armenian terrorist groups between 1973 and 1984, and lost their lives for this purpose.
