YEREVAN, MARCH 24, ARMENPRESS. Exports from Armenia to Russia dropped 30%, Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said when asked on the economic impacts of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

He said the figure is concerning.

At the same time, Kerobyan said there is growth of exports in other directions.

“We are now working with exporters so that they re-sign their contracts in conditions of new prices, which will result, we think, in increase of exports volumes because the deficit which appeared in the Russian market after many Western companies shut down allows us to assume that we can increase the share of our market in the Russian market,” he said.

ArmInfo. In an interview factor.am. Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, stated that the Armenian and  Turkish FMs' meeting was important and promising.

"It was the first such meeting over a very long time, and already  that in itself is important. Of course, results are also important.  But sometimes the result is already the meeting itself. Of course, in  the last months we have seen meetings of the representatives, Mr  Rubinyan's meeting with his Turkish counterpart. And I believe, the  European Union believes that these contacts between Armenia and  Turkey are very important. And so a meeting of the foreign ministers  was very important in itself. It is also, of course, important to  move forward and then have specific results, such as the opening of  borders. That is what the European Union has called for. The EU's  expectations are that these are the first steps toward the  normalization of relations. And this is, of course, what we would  like to see," Mr Klaar.

YEREVAN, MARCH 16, ARMENPRESS. The fact that the Azerbaijani authorities are charging customs duties from Iranian freight trucks in the Goris-Kapan road section does not affect the economic relations between Armenia and Iran, and the flow of Iranian freight trucks is arriving to Armenia via the newly built road, the State Revenue Committee Chairman Rustam Badasyan told reporters when asked on the matter.

“A large flow goes via the newly built road of Tatev,” he said.

Asked about the difficulties that have emerged on the mentioned road, Badasyan said weather-related difficulties could cause problems for one or two days, just like on any other road.

“This doesn’t impact our relations with Iran, given the fact that the volume that was entering Armenia is anyhow entering Armenia in the same volume,” Badasyan said.

Badasyan mentioned that new roads are being built.

YEREVAN, 10 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. The MEPs warn the authorities of Azerbaijan that the world is watching attentively and will not allow the destruction of the Armenian cultural heritage of Artsakh,  ARMENPRESS reports co-author of the resolution of “Destruction of cultural heritage of Nagorno-Karabakh”, MEP representing Sweden Evin Incir called on the government of Azerbaijan to be committed to its international obligations.

The MEP born in Diyarbakir, Kurdish by origin, but now representing the Social-Democratic Party of Sweden mentioned in her speech, that Azerbaijan now makes systematic attempts of destruction of rich history and Armenian cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to Incir, the attack by Azerbaijan on the Armenian cultural heritage is an attack on Armenia and most importantly an attack on the future generations of Armenia.

“ In its attempts to rewrite history for reaching dominance Azerbaijan ghas restored to  destruction of cultural treasures, which the future generations can no longer enjoy. This is a something, which I with my Kurdish roots, saw against my people and our identity in Turkey”, announced the MEP, reminding that on December 7, 2021 the UN International Court of Justice issued a decision on provisional measures based on the lawsuit filed by the Republic of Armenia against Azerbaijan, forcing an end to the destruction of the Armenian cultural heritage.
The resolution, which will be voted today (the resolution has been adopted, -edited) gives an opportunity to send a precise message to Azerbaijan that the world is watching and we will not stay quite, if the silence and the threat of violence is not stopped. The European Parliament must oppose the unacceptable actions of Azerbaijan and the international agreements have to follow that. Consequently, we call on Azerbaijan to be committed to obligations, in particular considering its membership in the UNESCO, which clearly prohibits the destruction of cultural heritage. Enough. That's enough,'' Evin Incir announced.
