Aliyev’s dynasty regime still suffers from misapprehension of
situation around Karabakh

ArmInfo. "Azerbaijan cannot understand this step of the United States.
First of all, the United States always calls Azerbaijan as its
strategic ally. Second, US always support the territorial integrity of
Azerbaijan and made statements on that for many times. If we are the
strategic allies, Azerbaijan should be informed about that", First
Vice Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov told APA
while taking stance on the decision of US House of Representatives and
Senate about the economic
aid to Nagorno Karabakh in 2010. Further basing on his logic of
misapprehension, Asgarov said "Nagorno Karabakh is an integral part of
Azerbaijan and Baku should be informed about the allocation of
financial aid to this region."

"US know that Armenia occupied the territories of Azerbaijan and we
have one million refugees, but despite that it allocates financial aid
to this country again", he said.

However, this time the vice speaker of the marionette parliament of
Azerbaijan went too far. The ruling elite of Azerbaijan is well aware
why the USA still allocates financial aid to the NKR alongside with
Armenia. Thanks to the Section 907of the Free Support Act adopted by
the US Congress yet in 1991 after Azerbaijan and Turkey closed their
borders with Armenia and Azerbaijan launched aggression against
Nagorny Karabakh, allows the United States to allocate aid to the NKR
legislatively. In addition, in the last report of the Coordination
Committee the congressmen demanded that the aid to Azerbaijan is not
used to attack Armenia or break the Karabakh peace process.

US House of Representatives and Senate approved package of economic
support to Armenia and Nagorny Karabakh in 2010, which considers 41
million dollars of aid for Armenia and 8 million dollars for Nagorny
Karabakh.
