/PanARMENIAN.Net/ To enter Turkish market, Armenia has to conduct
a serious legislative work, ARF Dashnaktsutyun representative, ex RA
Agriculture Minister David Lokyan told at "NKR conflict: new realities"
international conference in Karabakh.

According to PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, David Lokyan noted that
the Turkish market is safely protected from foreign imports. After
establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey, negotiations for
free trade rules should become a priority task for Armenia. Otherwise,
no Armenian product will be competitive on the Turkish market.

Besides, David Lokyan stated, Turkey is included in EU customs’
borders list, which can turn into a serious issue for Armenia. "It’s
important for RA Government to undertake steps towards conclusion of
free trade zone agreement with EU and starting of similar negotiations
with Turkey," he added.

Expert Objects To Yerevan-Batumi Motorway Construction

EXPERT OBJECTS TO YEREVAN-BATUMI MOTORWAY CONSTRUCTION

Friday, July 3, 2009

Economic analyst Soso Tsiskarishvili thinks it is a threat to Georgia’s
strategic interests to construct motorways connecting Yerevan with
Batumi, because if Russia decided to repeat its military aggression
against Georgia it could thus block the southern part of Georgia in
a few hours.

As is known the Russian troops who left Georgian territory by
2007 are deployed in Armenia. Tsiskarishvili says that the Georgian
administration deliberately broadcast the shots taken in Berlin showing
the meeting between two opposition leaders and former Interior Minister
Targamadze to bury the news about concluding a deal with Armenia on
the construction of the Yerevan-Batumi motorway.

Tsiskarishvili says that two previous Presidents of Georgia,
Gamsakhurdia and Shevardnadze, had negotiated about the possibility of
this motorway being built but no real steps had been taken, whereas,
according to Tsiskarishvili, during Saakashvili’s Yerevan visit on
June 26 a final decision was taken to construct this road.

ARMENIAN EXPERT: THE WAY CHOSEN BY THE OPPOSITION IS UNFAVORABLE FOR THE OPPOSITION FIRST OF ALL

ArmInfo
2009-06-30 15:05:00

The way chosen by the opposition is unfavorable for the opposition
first of all, the leader of the ‘European integration’ organization,
Karen Bekaryan, said at today’s press-conference when commenting on
refusal of the Armenian National Congress [ANC] of their mandates in
the Elders’ Council of Yerevan.

‘The ANC had an opportunity to express its point of view regarding
different problems and phenomena in the capital city. I understand that
rallies near Matenadaran also give such an opportunity, but having
mandates got as a result of the Yerevan Elders’ Council election on
31 May the opposition had a chance to express its position in more
than civilized way’, – Bekaryan said. He thinks if representatives
if the ANC took part in the work of the Elders’ Council, they could
contradict negative processes not postfactum but directly when they
were developing. ‘Using their resources in such a way the opposition
would found itself marginalized, and the society would escape of the
stress which it is staying in’, – he concluded.
