YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes. Today [PM] Nikol Pashinyan will once again meet with the representatives of the extra-parliamentary forces.

According to Past newspaper’s information, the agenda of the meeting is quite full (…).

(…). Along with all this, there are two matters on the agenda that we have that are quite noteworthy. One of them has such a wording: "Possible foreign policy developments: Discussion of termination of the RA membership in CSTO and EEU and possible alternatives.” By the way, the very next point [on this agenda] refers to the promotion of the European integration process.

In fact, the information is confirmed that the matter of termination of the RA's membership in the CSTO and EEU is being very actively discussed in the government and pro-government circles, although Pashinyan had noted at his last [press] conference that he does not believe the circumstance of leaving the CSTO will be considered.

By the way, this unit of extra-parliamentary forces, which was created on Pashinyan's initiative, is already almost entirely composed of pro-government forces, mostly pro-Western (…).

Erdogan recalled Turkey’s proposal to lead negotiations over normalization through the ‘3+3’ format in the South Caucasus. “In the past, we offered to create the “platform of six”, including Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran and, if possible, Georgia. If this platform becomes a reality, peace and tranquility will become a major development of the situation in the region,” he added.

The interlocutors discussed the possible consideration of steps within the framework of the mechanisms and tools of the CSTO in order to stabilize the situation in the eastern border of the Republic of Armenia.

There is no border dispute, there is aggression against sovereign territory of Armenia – Pashinyan

 21:01,

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The attack of the Azerbaijani armed forces against the eastern borderline of Armenia is a direct aggression against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, PM Pashinyan said at the extraordinary session of the Security Council.

Today, at about 13:00, the units of the Azerbaijani armed forces launched an attack in the eastern direction of Armenia’s borderline. The Armed Forces of Armenia took countermeasures. The adversary has suffered significant manpower losses. At least 6 armored vehicles have been destroyed. We have also suffered casualties, and we will provide verified information on the number.

Dear colleagues,

Dear compatriots,

The current developments can be unequivocally assessed as a direct aggression against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. As a result of the aggressive actions of Azerbaijan launched on May 12 of this year, Azerbaijan has occupied nearly 41 square kilometers of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. Under the lights of silence of our international partners, Azerbaijan continues its aggressive actions. My assessment is unequivocal: Azerbaijan and the forces encouraging it are targeting our sovereignty, our statehood, our independence. Yes, today we had a difficult day, and we are living difficult days. But today we also showed that we are here, we exist, we are a state, we are a nation and the language of compulsion is inadmissible for us. We can negotiate, we can seek and find mutually acceptable solutions, we act as a responsible member of the international community. But we will not allow to speak with us in the language of arrogance.

I call on the international community to make statements condemning Azerbaijani aggression, targeted statements. Talks about border disputes are absurd and senseless. There is no border dispute, there is aggression against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. The borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan have been clear since the period of the Soviet Union, by the legally binding agreements.  And if the problem was the border dispute, Azerbaijan should have accepted our proposal of withdrawing forces simultaneously from the borderline between Soviet Armenia and Azerbaijan, deploying international observers along the borderline and launching the process of demarcation and delimitation of borders long ago. Azerbaijan, that does not accept this proposal, is an aggressor state and must unequivocally withdraw its forces from the sovereign territory of Armenia. Its hopes to impose its will on Armenia are futile. The Government and the people of the Republic of Armenia are determined, and we will defend our sovereignty, territorial integrity, statehood and independence by all possible means.

At the same time, we continue to emphasize the need for a peaceful resolution of the situation, all our previous proposals are valid. We are committed to the provisions of the November 9 and January 11 trilateral statements”, PM Pashinyan said.

At the beginning of the session the participants of the Security Council meeting honored the memory of the soldiers who fell defending the Motherland with a minute of silence.

Ex-ambassador: Victorious atmosphere in Kapan should be transferred to Yerevan’s Republic Square

Panorama, Armenia
Nov 15 2021

Former Chief of Staff of the Constitutional Court of Armenia and former Armenian Ambassador to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan welcomed the victory of the Shant alliance in Sunday’s local elections in Kapan.

The bloc led by Gevorg Parsyan garnered 13,962 votes, defeating by a wide margin Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party.

"We need to move from defeats to victories, as we see that this is entirely possible,” Ghazaryan wrote on Facebook on Monday.

“The protest movement against Nikol Pashinyan should be led by [newly elected head of the Goris community] Arushan Arushanyan and Gevorg Parsyan.

“These very men have proved capable of defeating Nikol Pashinyan whether in freedom or in prison,” he said, adding they won the elections despite the harassment against them and the unprecedented use of administrative and financial resources by the ruling party.

“The victorious atmosphere in Kapan should be transferred to Yerevan’s Republic Square,” he said, stating the road issues will be resolved after the removal of the current government.

Defense Ministry denies reports claiming 60 Armenian servicemen had been besieged

Public Radio of Armenia
Nov 10 2021

The Armenian Ministry of Defense has denied the reports of the Azerbaijani media outlets claiming that a fight had allegedly taken place between Armenian and Azeri servicemen in the area of Lake Black in Armenia’s Syunik province and that a group of Armenian servicemen had been besieged.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense later added to this misinformation, announcing that 60 Armenian servicemen had been besieged and were set free only with the mediation of the Russian side.

“The statement of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry is obvious misinformation. Moreover, after the actions of the Armenian units following the provocation of the Azerbaijani side in the territory of Lake Black, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces appealed to the Russian side to resolve the situation, and it was due to the active work of the Russian side that the situation was stabilized,” the Armenian Defense Ministry stated.

It reiterated that the situation in the area of Lake Black is under the full control of the Armenian Armed Forces.
