Newspaper: Authorities want to make radical changes in Armenia diplomatic corps
YEREVAN. – Past daily of Armenia writes: Quite interesting developments are expected at the MFA [(Ministry of Foreign Affairs)]. The thing is that, at present, the given department is literally in a state of neglect. In fact, for about a month now, this structure has neither a minister nor deputy ministers.
Expert circles, including foreign [ones], record that all this is directly connected with the short-sighted and unpredictable foreign policy activities of [acting PM] Nikol Pashinyan and his [political] team. The press has recorded more than once that, actually, Pashinyan does not trust anyone and makes every decision virtually by himself.
The situation is the same in terms of foreign policy, too. The ministry was the last to be informed that this or that document is on the table for discussion. Moreover, according to our sources at the MFA, in recent times this department was hearing about even Pashinyan’s international visits, or a meeting with a foreign official, from an official statement.
According to Past newspaper’s information, the news being circulated that Pashinyan is going to appoint [ruling party member] Ruben Rubinyan as Minister of Foreign Affairs surprised and angered most of the diplomatic corps a lot. But he is not the only candidate, to put it mildly. According to our government sources, Pashinyan considers a priority the fact that whoever is appointed [foreign] minister should carry out radical reforms [at the MFA], and especially try to get rid of all those persons who are somehow connected or associated with the former authorities, as well as those who during this time have rebelled against him. In Pashinyan’s conviction, "such personnel have created this mess at the ministry."

Asbarez: Yerevan Says Baku and Ankara are Threatening Another Genocide
Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey (left) and Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan sign an "alliance agreement" in Artsakh occupied city of Shushi on June 15
Armenia’s foreign ministry said Thursday that anti-Armenian statements made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an address to the Azerbaijani parliament threaten the security of the entire region.
Official Yerevan also said that an alliance between Turkey and Azerbaijan announced earlier this week when Erdogan traveled to Shushi was against the self-determination of the people of Artsakh and Armenia’s territorial integrity and contain threats of genocide against Armenians in the region.
Below is a translated version of the foreign ministry statement.
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry has already issued a statement strongly condemning the joint visit of the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan to the currently occupied city of Shushi in the Republic of Artsakh, and described the visit as an outright provocation against regional peace and security.
The declaration signed by the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan in Shushi, as well as the remarks made by Turkey’s president in Azerbaijan’s are equally deplorable and provocative.
Although one of the provisions of the Turkish-Azerbaijani declaration states that the document is not directed against a third party, its entire content targets the Armenian people. It clearly reveals that the two states—which launched a 44-day aggression against the Republic of Artsakh—have made an alliance against the self-determination of the people of Artsakh, the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, and the rights of the Armenian people around the world who survived the Genocide.
Using the “Zangezur Corridor” in the declaration proves that Turkey and Azerbaijan, encouraged by the impunity of their joint aggression and mass atrocities committed against the people of Artsakh, are now making public agreements against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia. The agreement by the two states to fight against the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide is equally worrisome.
The aforementioned agreements completely contradict the irrefutable norms of general international law. In this respect we should emphasize that according to international law, particularly the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties of 1969, all international treaties that conflict with a peremptory norm of general international law are void and can have no international legitimacy.
It is worth noting that this declaration is based not on the United Nations Charter or the comprehensive and indivisible concept of security of the OSCE, but on their approach of “kinship security,” which is promoted as a principle to unify “Turkic world.”
The anti-Armenian statements expressed by the Turkish president in the Parliament of Azerbaijan on creating a platform for regional cooperation are hypocritical and misleading.
The public agreements between the Presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan contain not only genocidal threats against the Armenian people in the region, but also pose a serious challenge for all countries interested in international and regional peace and security, that necessitates close cooperation among all these countries.
The situation deriving from the use of force and aggression against the people of Artsakh cannot become a basis for lasting peace, just as various made-up Turkish-Azerbaijani initiatives in Shushi cannot cut off this Armenian cultural center from Artsakh and the Armenian people.

Aram Vardevanyan: The impression is ODIHR observers see a different Armenia
The members of ODIHR election observation mission in Armenia met on Wednesday with representatives of "Armenia" pre-election bloc, the official representative of the bloc Aram Vardevanyan said.
"The meeting was attended by president Kocharyan and Mr Georgian, the head of the election campaign headquarters of 'Armenia' bloc. During the meeting, president Kocharyan expressed concerns over the ongoing process. The ODIHR observers presented their initial report that has been published," Vardevanyan said, adding the report, however, lacked information about the real state of affairs in the pre-election reality of Armenia.
In his words, the observers have not reflected on numerous cases on the misuse of administrative resources by the power and it didn't covered the propaganda of hate speech which everyone witnesses.
"The actions of the OSCE/observers ODIHR contain significant risks to characterise their approach as biased at least which is extremely concerning at this stage," the representative of the bloc said. "The impression is OSCE/ODIHR observers see a different Armenia," Vardevanyan concluded.

Years ago, discovering Armenia, I came to realize a simple truth – it more complicated, but at the same time, easy to love when you know well… And, yes, it is about the Homeland. It's hard because it has so many 'faces', from bad roads to underdeveloped transport infrastructure in the regions… It's easy because every new step is a new discovery. And it turns out there are so many things you don’t know about your country, so many features which would make you proud, and which you could admire
And, first of all, we are talking about castles. And there are many of them. We will present only a few of them, which you will be interested to visit.
Aragatsotn
In this region, besides Amberd, you can see the only almost completely restored Dashtadem fortress (not far from Talin) with its citadel, fortress, chapel, open water supply system. The castle was actually owned by a woman, which is visible at first sight: just see it – it is a small, elegant, polished, neat stone fortress at the end of the village.

Another fortress, Proshaberd or Boloraberd, is 15 km away from Gladzor village. It was the residency of the Proshyan dynasty.
