/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "Armenian-Turkish rapprochement is an all-Armenian
issue, but Diaspora’s opinion on bilateral ties differs from that of
Armenia," psychologist Karine Nalchadjyan told a joint news conference
with sociologist Aharon Adibekyan. Armenian Genocide, according to her,
should not be ascribed to Diaspora only, because Armenian population
also suffered the tragedy. However, Diaspora’s more anxious attitude is
accounted for by the fact it is the direct result of Armenian Genocide.

Everybody is anxious about Armenian-Turkish process, psychologist
finds. Touching upon public opinion on Protocols, she distinguished
between the following 3 groups: people who are strongly against
re-establishment of any ties with Turkey, those who are for
rapprochement and those who take a neutral stance and are for
normalization process in case Protocols are amended.

Turkish Analist: Karabakh Belongs To Armenians

TURKISH ANALIST: KARABAKH BELONGS TO ARMENIANS

ArmInfo

ArmInfo. Ahead of the upcoming meeting between the presidents of
Armenia and Azerbaijan in the capital of Moldova Chisinau on October
8, one of the leading newspapers in Turkey publishes a story that
Nagorno Karabakh belongs to Armenians and the faster resolution of
the issue is in Azerbaijan’s interest.

According to Huliq News, from time to time the Turkish press publishes
articles referring to Karabakh issue, which are obviously addressed
to Azerbaijan. They try to free the latter from the horizons of the
warlike imagination and to return Azerbaijan to the territories of
sensible reasoning. Basically those stories tell Azerbaijan that
Karabagh can’t be under the control of Azerbaijan. Those are dreams.

One of the Turkish analysts Emin Pazargi has published an article in
Tumgazeteler newspaper with the same kind of reasoning. He writes
that About 10 more years will pass and according to the Pazargi
the issue of Karabakh will not be in the agenda any longer. This is
because Armenia day by day, and more and more affirms its positions
in Nagorno Karabakh Republic.

"The Armenians settle down in Karabakh. It becomes more difficult for
Azerbaijan to make their viewpoints accepted by the others. Cyprus
for example", – the Turkish analyst writes and continues comparing –
"it is 35 years already that the North Cyprus belongs to us. We already
put the stone on stone there. So let them force as much as they want,
those stones will not be moved anymore. Cyprus will not be returned:
The Azeri should realize this too." The author of the article stresses
the need for Azerbaijan to realize that every day that passes makes
it more difficult for them to possess Karabakh.

"Unfortunately, some Armenian political forces say, preconditions
are put forth in the protocols. What preconditions it goes about if
yesterday night the President of the world’s biggest country stated
during the telephone conversation with the Armenian President there
will be no preconditions and Karabakh conflict has nothing to do with
this issue," Mkrtich Minasyan, a Republican faction deputy said today
as speaking about the Armenian-Turkish relations.

"Nobody can say there are no concerns, yes, there are concerns. Let’s
imagine for a second, the so-called knots do not exist: shouldn’t we
have concerns as regulating our relations with Turkey?" he enquired.

According to the deputy, no social, economic or political expansion
by the Turkish party should be observed.

Establishing Armenian-Turkish Relations Will Decrease Tension In Reg

ESTABLISHING ARMENIAN-TURKISH RELATIONS WILL DECREASE TENSION IN REGION: SARGSYAN

Tert.am

New York was the second destination of President of Armenia Serzh
Sargsyan’s week-long Pan-Armenian Tour.

As announced by the President of the Republic of Armenia press office,
on October 3, Sargsyan met with members of large Armenian communities
of Eastern US and Canada. "Hayastan" Pan-Armenian Fund Board of
Trustees Vice-President Gagik Harutyunyan, Armenia’s Ambassador
at-large, Ex-president of Nagorno-Karabakh Arkadi Ghukasyan, and
Republic of Armenia Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan participated
in the meeting.

Meeting participants welcomed Sargsyan’s initiative to visit cities
with large Armenian communities, noting that despite the decades-long
history and rich experience of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation, the
pan-Armenian tour and such meetings, and the profound comprehensive and
pluralist discussions taking place, form a new sort of establishment:
that which hears the voices of various segments of the Armenian
people all over the world, along with those in the homeland, and
presenting Armenia’s approach to compatriots in the Diaspora before
making decisions of pan-national importance.

In his opening speech, President Sargsyan once more emphasized
that Armenia proceeds to establish relations with Turkey without
preconditions.

"I believe that we were able to get the most in the given period,"
Sargsyan said referring to the concern that it was possible to
have a document which would be more beneficial for Armenians in the
Armenian-Turkish negotiation process.

Sargsyan stated after the Russo-Georgian war last August, in essence,
a new situation was created which, to a certain extent, contributed
to moving the Armenian-Turkish political dialogue forward, as it is
obvious that unresolved issues include big challenges for peoples’
peaceful, secure and prosperous future. Sargsyan expressed confidence
that the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey will
also cont in the region and creating an environment of mutual trust.

During the meeting, Sargsyan emphasized once more that the issue of
Armenian Genocide cannot be discussed in the context of establishing
relations with Turkey.

"The only issue connected with Genocide which may be a subject
for discussion is how we can help the Turkish people to be more
partial while looking through the pages of their own history or, to
be more precise, how to overcome the consequences of the Genocide,"
the president said.

In conclusion, Sargsyan said, "The most important thing is that in
this responsible stage of making decisions, we find the strength
to understand each other. I believe in Armenia’s bright future. I
believe in it, because I see the right path," the president said.

with representatives of U.S. West Coast Armenian community.

"We cannot be dissatisfied with the visit of the Armenian President
and we hope that given all the threats and challenges, he will be
able to complete the entire process with Turkey. The President gave
explanation to many questions. He listened to our views, we learned
about his approaches. I positively estimate this exchange of views
and I hope that this will lead to good results, " Vahe Karapetian said.
