Flyone Armenia launches Yerevan-Tehran flights

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. Flyone Armenia national airline launched Yerevan-Tehran roundtrip flights on June 6.

The airline will fly from Yerevan’s Zvartnots airport to Tehran’s Imam Khomeini airport four times per week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, offering affordable prices and convenient schedules for everyone.

Flyone Armenia Chairman of the Board Aram Ananyan personally visited Zvartnots airport Tuesday morning for the ribbon cutting ceremony marking the first flight to Tehran.

“The launch of Flyone Armenia’s direct flights from Yerevan to Tehran was a highly anticipated event and we are convinced that this new destination will be as highly demanded as the rest of our nearly two dozen travel destinations. The new flights will create a convenient transport alternative between Yerevan and Tehran, enabling to promote the strong cultural, economic and tourism ties,” Ananyan said at the ceremony.

PM Pashinyan activates task force in charge of construction of new nuclear power reactor

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has signed a decree on setting up an inter-departmental working group charged with the construction of a new nuclear power reactor.

The task force will deal with conducting studies on the construction of a new nuclear power reactor, the expediency of small modular reactors and the selection of required technologies.

950 hectares under Azeri control near Armenia’s Berkaber, says Governor of Tavush

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. There is nothing new in terms of the enclaves in the Armenia-Azerbaijan talks and this issue will be solved during delimitation and demarcation, Governor of the Tavush Province Hayk Ghalumyan told reporters when asked on the matter.

“This issue has been discussed on numerous occasions both by the Prime Minister and the members of our political team,” Ghalumyan, who represents the ruling Civil Contract party, told reporters on June 6. “We all know this, there’s no secret, everything is transparent. There is nothing going on in terms of the enclaves in the negotiations, the public will be informed whenever something happens,” he added.

Asked whether there are enclaves that should be surrendered to Azerbaijan, Governor Ghalumyan said: “Just as we have territories under Azerbaijani control, they too have the same in the Tavush Province and other parts of the Republic of Armenia. This issue will be resolved during delimitation and demarcation. I have nothing to add at this moment,” he said.

“I can only say that in the Berkaber section some 950 hectares of land is under Azerbaijani control,” he added.

Armenian Economy Minister visits China, meets with CITIC Construction executive

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan is on a visit to China.

In a statement, the ministry of economy said that Kerobyan has met with CITIC Construction Vice President Yang Jianqiang to discuss the possibility of the company’s participation in the road construction, home building and reservoir construction projects envisaged in the 2021-2026 government program.

Azerbaijan must pull back troops from sovereign territory of Armenia – Governor of Syunik

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan has said that the Azerbaijani military must pull back its original positions in the Tegh section.

Speaking about the farmers who have lost pastures and arable lands as a result of the Azerbaijani invasion near Tegh village, the Governor said that the government will pay assistance to those who are unable to access their territories. “I am convinced that Azerbaijan must to pull back to its original positions,” he added.

The governor said that the Azerbaijani troops have pulled back in some parts but was unable to give details on specific location and distance of withdrawal.

“Azerbaijan must pull back from our sovereign territory. This is an unequivocal stance,” Governor Ghukasyan said at a press briefing.

No border incidents were recorded over the past two weeks in Syunik, he added.

Armenian and Azerbaijani militaries are conducting engineering works on the border, the governor said.

Sotk gold mine works in partial mode due to safety concerns related to Azeri shootings

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS.  The Sotk Gold Mine has ceased operations in the open section of the mine due to safety concerns but continues to work in the closed part, Governor of Gegharkunik Karen Sargsyan told reporters.

“Overall, the intensity of gunfire in border towns of the province has decreased. Regarding the Sotk mine, the work in the mine’s open section is suspended due to safety precautions, but the work continues in the closed section. The Sotk mine is working partially,” he said.

Restoration in Gegharkunik following 2022 September attack by Azerbaijan nearing completion

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. The restoration work in the towns and villages in Gegharkunik Province that suffered damages in the 2022 September attack by Azerbaijani armed forces are nearing completion, Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan said at a press briefing.

He said that authorities are now assessing the resources required for dealing with the four partially collapsed homes that are unfit for restoration. Furthermore, farmers who lost livestock have received assistance and their damages have been almost completely restored.

FLYONE ARMENIA to name aircraft in honor of composer Aram Khachatryan

YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. FLYONE ARMENIA announced Monday it will name one of its airplanes in honor of renowned composer Aram Khachatryan to mark the latter’s 120th anniversary of birth.

June 6 will mark the composer’s 120th anniversary of birth.

FLYONE Armenia Chairman of the Board Aram Ananyan said that the airline will commence Yerevan-Tehran flights also on June 6.

“We are in contact with the composer’s family, we have an agreement. I think that the soaring of the airplane bearing the name of Aram Khachatryan will make the Armenian culture visible to the world. As an airline, we pay attention to promoting our values,” Ananyan said.

FLYONE ARMENIA will operate Yerevan-Tehran roundtrip flights four times per week – on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Washington to host another round of Armenia-Azerbaijan foreign ministerial talks

YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. Armenia and Azerbaijan will continue negotiations on establishing relations and the peace treaty on the level of foreign ministers, foreign ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan told ARMENPRESS.

The next round of foreign ministerial talks is planned to take place in Washington, D.C.

The talks will start on June 12.

“We will provide other details additionally,” she added.
