YEREVAN, MAY 5, ARMENPRESS. There are key disagreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a number of issues, one of which concerns Nagorno Karabakh, ARMENPRESS reports, Prime Minister Pashinyan said, answering the following question of RFE/RL in Prague: What are the issues on which the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan remained in disagreement after the Washington negotiations?

"Although it was recorded in Prague and Sochi that Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other's territorial integrity, we are still unable to reach an agreement on the wording of the draft peace treaty that would give us confidence that Azerbaijan recognizes Armenia's 29,800 square kilometers", Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister emphasized that there are differences in addressing the rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, and they are preserved.

"Next, any agreement, even the most unambiguously written ones, have interpretations, the way these interpretations should be resolved is a very important issue, and in the end, the issue of guaranteeing peace after the signing of the peace agreement is a very important issue. Both international and local mechanisms are taken into account, particularly in connection with the withdrawal of troops, should we not have a demilitarized zone? Regarding addressing the rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, there are misinterpretations, and they are preserved. Of course, there is a certain move, if before the difference between the positions of the parties was 1 km, now it is 990 meters, it is a move, but there is still a huge difference," the Prime Minister noted.

The interlocutors emphasized the further development and expansion of cooperation between parliamentarians of the two countries, referred to the negotiations and results of Prime Minister Pashinyan's official visit to the Czech Republic.

YEREVAN, MAY 5, ARMENPRESS. The visit to the Czech Republic was quite productive and meaningful, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said in a meeting with the representatives of the Armenian community in the Czech Republic, summing up his official visit to the Czech Republic.

"The official visit ends. I must say that we had very meaningful meetings. I think that we were able to make our views more understandable to our Czech partners. We were able to understand their understandings and perceptions about us, about the developments in our region. Meetings with Armenians, direct questions and answers with representatives of the community are among the important components of my visits. They are very useful," ARMENPRESS reports, Nikol Pashinyan said.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is on a two-day official visit to the Czech Republic. Nikol Pashinyan met with the Head of the Czech Government Petr Fiala. First, a private conversation between the Prime Ministers of the two countries took place, and then the negotiations continued in an extended format. Then, Nikol Pashinyan and Peter Fiala made statements for mass media representatives. The leaders of the two countries discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest: regional, security, economic issues.

Next, the Prime Minister had meetings with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, and the President of the Senate, Miloš Vistarčil.

Armenia is a democratic country and the government is formed through elections. smart, strong people can participate, win and rule the country, ARMENPRESS reports, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the meeting with the representatives of the Armenian community in the Czech Republic, referring to the observation that if the management is not successful, then they can leave and give others a chance.

"Smart and strong people can participate in elections, win and rule. Since 2018, I have done everything to make the Defense Army ready for war. You are talking about surrendering lands, you know that surrendering lands was a key issue during the entire negotiation process. It is a published fact. I signed the declaration of November 9, understanding that 30,000 soldiers will be captured, Armenians will not live in Karabakh," said Nikol Pashinyan.

The Armenian PM mentioned that the homeland, the land is kept by the population. He noted that after the victory of the war in the 90s, the population of Armenia decreased and that of Azerbaijan increased.

"How many people lived on that land and what added value was created? How much money in tax was generated so that our soldier could get more salary? Compared to 2017, we increased the budget by 2 billion USD. The budget is the ability to keep land," said the Prime Minister, adding that it is necessary to live in the homeland, create value, which will contribute to the strengthening of the state.

The government of Artsakh, through Russian peacekeepers, has sent a truckload of food, medicine and other essential goods to the communities of Hin Shen, Mets Shen, Yegtsahogh and Lisagor in the Berdadzor sub-district of Shushi region, which are under bilateral blockade after the installation of the illegal checkpoint by Azerbaijan on April 23, ARMENPRESS reports, Artsakh State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan informed on his Facebook page.

"Dear compatriots,

After Azerbaijan installed an illegal checkpoint on the highway connecting Artsakh to Armenia on the border with Armenia (Lachin (Kashatagh) corridor) on April 23, the four communities of Berdadzor sub-district of Shushi region (Hin Shen, Mets Shen, Yegtsahogh and Lisagor) appeared under a bilateral blockade, deprived of all possibilities of connection with the rest of Artsakh and Armenia. Due to the Azerbaijani obstacles, all humanitarian supplies to the residents of these villages were also stopped, and in recent days, an acute humanitarian crisis emerged there, without any stock of basic necessities.

Today, we were finally able to send one truckload of food, medicine and other essential goods to the residents of the mentioned communities through the peacekeepers of the Russian Federation.

Azerbaijan continues the complete blockade of Artsakh through both the illegal checkpoint on the Artsakh-Armenia border and the road near Shushi, already openly and illegally blocked by the Azerbaijani state. And the humanitarian supplies to Artsakh are carried out by the Russian peacekeeping troops, in very limited volumes. We are making additional efforts to restore transportation by the International Committee of the Red Cross," said the Artsakh State Minister.

YEREVAN, MAY 5, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in the Czech Republic in Prague, ARMENPRESS was informed from the Office of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister answered many questions of the attendees, which related to the developments in the region, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the steps taken in the security sector, the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno Karabakh resulted by the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, opportunities for the involvement of Diaspora specialists in Armenia’s state administration system within the framework of the "iGorts" program and other programs, Armenia-Diaspora relations, economy, tourism, culture and other fields.

In Prague, Prime Minister Pashinyan laid flowers at the khachkar dedicated to Armenian-Czech friendship in the park of Saint Jindrich and Kunhuta Church.

Within the framework of the visit, the Prime Minister visited the European regional headquarters of RFE/RL in Prague. After the meeting with director Jamie Fly, Nikol Pashinyan gave an interview to the Armenian service of the radio station.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasizes that the decision to install the "Nemesis" monument in Yerevan was not made by the government, but by the city authorities, and considers the decision and its implementation wrong, ARMENPRESS reports Pashinyan said in an interview with RFE/RL.

Referring to the installation of the "Nemesis" monument in Yerevan and the resulting problems in Armenian-Turkish relations, the Prime Minister said:

"Let's record the following that the government did not make that decision, and one of the shortcomings of democracy is when the government or the head of the government does not control everything and everyone. And if you want to know my opinion, I consider that a wrong decision was made and the implementation of that decision was also wrong," Pashinyan said.

He added that it happened against an emotional background and in a situation when many in Armenia considered others traitors and many threatened to shoot others under the walls for treason.

YEREVAN, MAY 5, ARMENPRESS. At 10:55 a.m. on May 5, Artsakh’s Askeran regional police department received a report that in the administrative area of Vardadzor village, when A. Vahanyan was doing agricultural work with a tractor, Azerbaijani servicemen opened fire from their combat positions in his direction.

As ARMENPRESS was informed from the Police of the Ministry of Interior of Artsakh, the agricultural works stopped as a result of the shooting.

According to the source, the report was handed over to the Russian peacekeeping troops.
